New Plus-Size Brand Elevates Women's Fashion to New Heights

A new plus-size clothing collection launches to offer more than 62 million women fashionable choices to suit their wardrobe needs. Three distinct collections provide women options for work, play and those red carpet events.

New York, New York October 13, 2005 -- The best-kept secret in plus-size fashion, IGIGI, marks its fall season with three distinct sets that serve all aspects of a woman’s full life.

Inspired by a combination of Victorian sensibilities and modern art and architecture, IGIGI’s Metro Collection is perfect for life in the city or the suburbs. The line features longer fitted jackets, flared trousers and asymmetric tunics. Earthy shades of terracotta and creams are splashed with slightly muted greens, azure and mauves. The ever classic black and white combination plays a key role in the fall collection as well. Retail price points, between $43 and $105, add to the appeal of the line.

Designer Yuliya Zeltser observes, “This is an exciting collection because I was able to experiment more with texture and color. I want these clothes to help women celebrate life and feel confident and sexy while doing so. The Metro collection is for the busy professional who doesn’t want to lose touch with her femininity or sense of style.”

The fashion forward Trend Collection of separates showcases an eclectic mix of exotic colors and silhouettes inspired by the Moroccan bazaars, Gypsy spirit and Spanish zeal. Silhouettes include v-necklines adorned with embroidery and be-jeweled yokes. Deep cowl necks expose the gypsy reminiscent embroidery and beading. The color palate includes deep midnight blue coupled with the gold embroidery; wine with platinum and brass; black with reds, gold and orange tones. Purple hues round out the line. The retail price range for the Trend Collection starts at $45 and soars to a reasonable $75.

“This was one of my favorite collections to design,” comments Zeltser, “I attempted to evoke a sense of adventure in our customers; to fully embrace different cultures, experiences and lifestyles.”

For those special evenings out on the town and with the holiday season not far away, IGIGI’s Gala Collection features haute couture inspired evening gowns, dresses and separates. The holiday season will blend the quintessence of 18th century France with modern sophistication.

Silhouettes for the Gala Collection include long, fitted evening gowns that showcase exaggerated fantails, empire waists and bare shoulders. Fabrications of solid and stretch velvets, antique style lace, bejeweled knits and embroidered laces play into the luxurious nature of the clothes. Women can expect to feel regal in shades of burgundy, forest green, sapphire, black, gold and amethyst. Women can sparkle without breaking the bank with price points between $50 and $200.

Zeltser asserts, “The Gala Collection is the most striking, dramatic and seductive of the IGIGI fall collections. I hope the clothes inspire women to awaken their innermost beauty, grace and self-confidence. The collection was infused with the spirit of a young and beautiful courtesan—full of intrigue, dangerous liaisons and playful and seductive adventures.”

IGIGI, a San Francisco based retailer, manufacture and design house caters to the plus-size woman sizes 14-32. Store locations and online shopping are available at www.igigi.com.
